Just a couple things about me for starters...
I attend Central Michigan University, double majoring in Athletic Training and Health Fitness and minoring in Leadership. I was what you might call a "jock" in high school, although my high school was so small there really was no cliques, so that title really didn't apply.
When it comes to politics, i think i have a decent amount of knowledge and understanding, so i try occasionally to interject my opinions. I voted for John McCain, obviously the minority choice, but whatever, i liked him better, and thanks to the 1st Amendment, i can voice that opinion.
You could call me a Republican, but i don't know if i fit the label entirely. I am probably the most anti-abortion/Pro-choice person you will ever meet. I believe under no circumstances whatsoever should abortion be allowed. Yeah, yeah, i know, "what about rape and incest?" Well, i'm also a strong believer in God. I believe that if in either of those horrendous circumstances, if conception takes place, then God put the child there for a reason. Call it wrong, call it right, call it bad judgement, whatever, that's my opinion. However, i also believe i medicinal marijuana (a very liberal view) and i also believe in the death penalty.
I am NOT a racist, a claim some people used to attribute why i voted for McCain. My father is somewhat racist, and sure i grew up with him, yada yada, yada, so i'm sure his views somewhat were molded to me, but now that i'm an adult on my own, i voice MY OWN views, not his.
I'm a HUGE detroit sports fan (including the lions) so don't tell me how bad the lions are, i know, i wake up hungover every sunday morning specifically to watch them.
When i grow up, i want to be a physical therapist right here in Michigan, despite everyone else wanting to bolt to Southern Cali or somewhere else because of the economic crisis Granholm's infinite wisdom put us in. (thats another thing, i HATE granholm) I want to be married and have 3 kids...2 boys and a girl. Carson, Brady, and Sara. Sorry, but i guess i put alot of thought into this at an early age.
As i said before, i'm a strong believer in God. I may not walk the straight and narrow, because i like to have fun, and i don't go to Church every Sunday, but i think God cares more about what we've done with our lives than what we did every sunday morning. I'm proud as hell of my high school...some people say they hated it, some people say they wish they could have went anywhere else, but i'm thankful every day that i got to go to Gabriel Richard-Riverview. I'm also thankful everyday that i went to a catholic school...i believe i'm a million times better off in college now because of it.
Some people hate me, some people love me, but honestly, i don't care. People that care too much about what others think are my biggest pet peeve. I have my friends that i would do anything for, and isn't it better to have maybe a little bit fewer friends that you are really close with, than to have a TON of friends that you are close to none of them? I don't know, another one of my opinions.
Now.....to the good stuff.
Barack Obama...
I couldn't tell you everything about him, i can't tell you every bullet-point of his financial plan, but i believe that raising taxes AT ALL, even if it means tax breaks coming to middle-classers like me, is bad. I believe it will mess with inflation, but i don't understand economics enough to get in a serious argument about them. I believe that we need to STAY in Iraq until they can 100% fend for themselves, and they are not at that point yet. I believe Obama is simply not experienced enough yet to deal with major threats on our national security, something Joe Biden (his VP) said would happen within 6 months. I believe that every American should be able to make their own choice about healthcare/insurance (something that would have been doable with McCain) instead of having the government choose for us (Obama's plan).
Once again, these are my opinions, i'm not going to debate them with you, they are what they are.
I believe alot of Obama's votes came from African-Americans across the nation who voted for him simply because he is black. I think that's wrong, but hey, whatever. You can call that racism, but it's not.
I also believe that Hilary Clinton is an idiot, but once again, my opinion. People are probably saying that i don't like Obama, Clinton, Granholm, because they are all Democrats, well, you're wrong. I don't like George Bush, and i also didn't like Dick DeVos. So therefore, i vote for whom I like and agree with, rather than what party they belong to.
That's all for now....more to come later.

A few clarifications :P
1) The current mess in Michigan is not Granholm's fault. It is very partially her fault + every Michigan governor since 1970. When Michigan first fell into the pit being a one crop state (the auto-makers) no one did a thing. Now that it's happening again, and at the worst possible time, we're in serious shit. Until Michigan diversifies its industries, we will continue to ride the precipice of prosperity and shittiness.
2) Obama isn't nationalized health care, whoever told you that is lying to you. He will raise taxes on people who are rich, because they don't need gold plated shark tanks as much as say a poor person needs a loaf of bread.
3) Forget God, use a civil argument against abortion. Life starts at conception. A tadpole is a life. If we were killing fetal lions, trust me, PETA would be blowing up buildings. Lefties hold a terrible double standard here: a serious amount of people hold animal life higher than human life when it comes to determining worth.
4) this doesn't have to be political! make it whatever you want. i'd prefer you write what you are comfortable with/ what interests you/ what would interest me (in order from worst to best) but hey, it's up to you :D
